Symptom: Mode/Type 3 vehicles on HONDA-SL2 or HONDA-SL3 stall immediately after remote-started.

Cause: The vehicles battery is either poor or the ambient temperature is low enough that the battery cannot produce enough current during remote-start. The reduced current output of the battery causes the voltage to drop below 6volts DC during crank, where the vehicle's ECM resets several times. This can be easily seen by viewing the cluster while starting the vehicle. The cluster will blink (on/off) several times while cranking, and each time the cluster turns off then on the ECM has reset.

Solution: Upgrade the HONDA-SL2 to version 1.1 or the HONDA-SL3 to version 1.4 or above.

Watch a video while successfully remote-starting with a HONDA-SL3 v1.4. Note the upper cluster resetting multiple times during crank.
