Symptom: The dome light turns on when the driver inserts the key and steps on the brake pedal.

Cause: This happens because the bypass kit is instructing the vehicle to disable the RAP (Retained Accessory Power) by sending a door open signal to the BCM (Body Control Module). This signal is sent when the bypass kit receives the falling edge of the ground-out-while-running signal from the remote starter.

Solution: This symptom is normal and should be ignored because the unit is functioning properly. Without this feature the radio would remain on for at least 10 minutes after the remote-starter shuts down and could potentially drain the vehicles battery in the process.
