Bypass kit programs but will not start 2005 Pontiac Pursuit

2005 Pontiac Pursuit
Symptom: The PASSLOCK SL will program properly but the vehicle will not start.
Cause: Midway through 2005 production GM introduced a change in the 2005 Pontiac Pursuits' anti-theft system. The newer system uses a Passkey III (PK3) on top of the previous Passlock II system.
Solution: Have a look at the stamp near the top of the metal shaft on the key.
 | If the key is stamped with + then the vehicle is equipped with Passlock II and Passkey III (PK3).
